We have three new buddy benches on the playground.  The children know that if they are looking for someone to play with all they have to do is sit on the bench.  That gives the message to the others that this child is looking for someone to play with.  This is so empowering for a child who is afraid to go up and ask to play.  Furthermore, it is a visible signal that helps the others make certain to take care of others in their class and  create empathy as a daily experience.

These benches were purchased in memory of three of our former students who have passed away.   May the memory of Taggy Antrim, Barbara Como and Rosie Rondinelli be a blessing.
